Open Connections

Discovers related notes and enables semantic search across the vault, powered by local embeddings in the browser or the AI provider you choose. Notes never leave the device when running locally. Ships an MCP server.

As you write, the Connections view surfaces notes that are semantically related to the one you are in and updates when you move. Semantic Lookup searches the vault by meaning rather than keywords.

Local embeddings are the default: Transformers.js runs in-browser with WebGPU acceleration and a WASM fallback, with multilingual models for non-English vaults. OpenAI, Gemini, Ollama, LM Studio, Upstage, and OpenRouter are available when you want them.

Embeddings are cached in SQLite and re-built automatically when the model changes. Works on desktop and mobile, and listed in the community plugin directory.
